ROMA make GEARFLEX Gear Coupling offers most reliable and positive means of transmitting mechanical power with ample flexibility to combat various forms of misalignment: angular, offset and combination of angular offset including end float of shafts.
The flexibility in the Gear Coupling is provided by specially designed gear teeth configuration which makes the coupling self-aligning duration operation.
ROMA make GEARFLEX standard Gear Coupling consists of two gear hubs, two outer flanged geared sleeves, a set of bolts, grease nipples and O rings. The external teeth of the hubs engage with the internal teeth of sleeves are bolted together thus making the unit a complete coupling.
The geared hubs are made out of tested forged steel and flanged geared sleeves are made out of tested forged steel or graded cast steel depending on the size and requirements. The teeth are generated and are involute from. The bolts are made out of high tensile steel and precision machined. The O- rings are made out of specially bonded rubber to withstand compression and of adequate hardness for a long life.
The sleeves and hubs are suitably heat treated to provide wear-resistance properties for longer life of the Gear Coupling.
For standard ROMA make GEARFLEX Gear Coupling the lubrication is provided by Grease which penetrates the tooth contact area to form a thin layer of lubricant to minimize the friction. The grease is injected through grease nipples and is retained by O rings provided on both sides.
OPTIONAL SEALING: On specific request, ROMA make GEARFLEX couplings are provided with alternative sealing like felt seals, oil seals, detachable sealing arrangement with or without pressure plate etc.
OIL LUBRICATION: In case of lubrication by oil, the Couplings are provided with Oil-Plugs.

ROMA make RESIFLEX Resilient Coupling essentially consists of a GRID SPRING connecting two hubs mounted on driving and driven shafts.
The grooves are cut axially on the outer surface of the hubs and the grid spring runs through the grooves to from a series of resilient bridges. The grooves are flared outwards to give the spring-members long flexible spans at normal loads. The un-flared portion of the groove in the central area provides increasing support to the spring-members under overload condition. The stiffness of the spring (and therefore of the coupling) depends on the unsupported length of each flexible span and varies with every variation in torque. As a result the coupling stiffness changes at every instant during a vibration cycle. A powerful detuning action is produced which continuously alters the torsional vibration frequency and prevents a build up of resonance in the system.
The driving and driven hubs are generally keyed to the connected shafts or shrunk fitted and are totally enclosed in a shell filled with grease or oil depending on the speed of operation. The shells are flanged and bolted either in horizontal plane or vertical plane.

ROMA make ROMAFLEX Flexible Pin Bush Coupling provides reliable means of mechanical power transmission giving a positive and cushioned drive protecting against unavoidable misalignment and help in reducing wear and tear of the connecting parts.
The Flexible Pin Bush Coupling absorbs shock loads, torsional vibrations and takes all forms of misalignment: angular; offset and angular offset including axial float of shafts.
The Flexible Pin Bush Coupling is made out of high grade Cast Iron, power transmitted from one half to other through steel pins precision machined passing through specially bonded rubber bushes. The elastic properties of rubber bushes enable the coupling to take shock loads, torsional vibrations and misalignment
ROMAFLEX Flexible Pin Bush Coupling can be operated in either direction, requires no lubrication and is unaffected by water, dust and atmospheric conditions.
The Flexible Pin Bush Coupling is easy to assemble and gives years of trouble free life with minimum maintenance.

ROMA make RIGIFLEX Rigid Coupling connects two rotating shafts (Drive & Driven) without providing any form of flexibility in the drive. The rigid couplings are used where connecting shafts are precisely located for lateral and angular misalignment.
RIGIFLEX couplings are designed to transmit heavy torques at rated speed and are generally made out of Steel (Cast / Forged) or Cast Iron depending on the application. The two halves are connected together by high tensile bolts passing through the flanges of the coupling halves.
